The Central Government recognized Cost Accountants as eligible persons to represent cases of Income Tax on behalf of their clients under Section 288 (2) (v) of the Income Tax Act, 1961. |

Also, Cost Accountants were recognized to act as Valuers under section 4(3) of the Estate Duty Act, 1953. |
 |
The Controller of Imports & Exports accorded recognition to a Cost Accountant to certify the total CIF value of imported raw materials and components, consumed by units engaged in priority or other industries for the purpose of providing facilities to the units under the import policy for 1969-70. |
